Vincent de Groot has worked as a rehabilitation physician at Amsterdam UMC since 2004. In 2014 he has been appointed as professor of rehabilitation medicine and chair of the department. His clinical and research focus is on neurorehabilitation, in particular cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, gait analysis, orthotics of the lower limb and spasticity treatment. He is chair of the committee of the Netherlands Society of Rehabilitation Medicine that is responsible for the Dutch rehabilitation residency programme (Concilium) and member of the European Academy of Rehabilitation Medicine. He has published more than 100 scientific papers and has supervised over 15 PhD-students.
